Need to define the p: You need to define why you are not sleeping. Poor sleep makes fibromyalgia worse. You need a sleep evaluaiton. Ambien (zolpidem) is not for long term therapy since it is habit forming. Fibromyalgia gets worse with poor sleep, poor exercise and poor control of stress and psychological issues. Each of these need attention. You need teh full evaluation and may need to see others like psych

Fibromyalgia: In my experience it is unusual for fibromyalgia discomfort to be intense enough to interfere with sleep. Does the rheumatologist agree that your discomfort is all related to your fibromyalgia or could there be another process causing it? Of course ambien (zolpidem) is not a Pain reliever and I wonder if pain relievers or antiinflammatories have been prescribed or any other tests performed.
