A member asked:

A biopsy found "mildly disordered proliferative endometrium." will it go away on its own? the gynecologist gave me 15 days of aygestin (norethindrone).

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is benign ...: ...And very common. Your uterine lining shows proliferative changes before ovulation, then changes to secretory after ovulation. Progesterone (agestyn) causes these changes. Near menopause, many woman will not ovulate, and carry a proliferative lining for a long time. This can lead to long and heavy menses.
