Conservative: Most people with PVD can be treated without any intervention (balloon/stents/surgery). Usually the best treatment is exercise, risk factor reduction (no smoking) and medical therapy. It is also a marker of possible heart disease and a cardiology evaluation should be part of the treatment plan.
