A member asked:

Is peripheral vascular disease considered reversible?

14 doctors weighed in across 3 answers

Not really: Peripheral vascular disease is not necessarily reversible, but its risk can be successfully managed. The pillars of treatment are, 1) smoking cessation, 2) anti- platelet therapy (aspirin/ plavix), and 3) statin therapy to lower cholesterol. There have been anecdotal reports of plaque reversal but this does not happen for everybody.

Maybe: In addition to not smoking and controlling cholesterol levels, the blood pressure and blood sugars should also be well controlled. These are the major risk factors for peripheral vascular disease.

And exercise: In addition to what drs. Salartash and aalami have said, regular exercise, like walking, also helps too.
