Listeriosis: One can have asymptomatic listerial infection that will affect the fetus. Usda's fsis and the fda tell pregnant women not to eat luncheon or deli meats unless reheated until steaming hot, and to avoid fluid from packages of other foods, utensils, and food preparation sites. This does not mean that you will get it but listeria can cause premature delivery, miscarriage, stillbirths, etc.
