Is there always a bump left after a chalazion stye surgery? will it be forever? is there a way to get rid of it?

Discuss with surgeon: A bump could be swelling from the procedure, residual chalazion or scar. If the surgery was within the last few days, apply cool compresses. If past this time, use warm compresses. Talk to your doctor.

It will go away: There is often a temporary bump after chalazion drainage. This may be due to swelling, scar tissue, or residual chalazion. The surgery will allow the chalazia to resolve more quickly but often does not make it resolve overnight. We often prescribe a steroid ointment to help with residual swelling and scarring. You should also continue warm compresses and lid scrubs. The bump will resolve with time.
