A member asked:

Will past cigarettes still reduce your lifespan if you have quit?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: If one quits smoking, the risk of disease and death definitely decreases, but not as much as if a person never smoked at all. Overall, it depends on the amount and length of time a person smoked cigarettes. If you eat healthy, exercise and take care of yourself, then your chance of having an average lifespan compared to someone who never smoked will definitely go up!
