A member asked:

Hi docs, would drinking alcohol once a year affect muscle growth and development?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not unless that: Drinking lasted most of the year. Single episodes of alcohol consumption have very limited permanent effects, unless the person drinks to the point of alcohol poisoning or has severe underlying problems. It certainly should not effect ultimate muscle growth. Some people are very sensitive and get muscle inflammation with even slight exposure, but this is rare.
