Can you tell if it is right for my doctor to prescribe an antidepressant for a migraine?

If it works: Migraines are difficult to treat. Often a cocktail of medications can help. Antidepressants such as amytripyline are used in some cases to help with the migraines.

Various approaches: Tricyclic antidepressants seem to work far better than ssri's or ssnri's, but other choices might include beta blockers, topirimate, valproate, or calcium channel blockers.
