No: Gout is not a typical disease found in children as uric acid levels rarely rise before puberty. It takes years for uric acid overload to manifest itself as gout. There are a few rare exceptions such as a metabolic condition known as Lesch-Nyhan syndrome in which uric acid levels rise during childhood.
