A member asked:

How does mri interpret ophthalmic imgeges?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Magnet : Mri is highly sensitive imaging tool for soft tissue pathology. In ophthalmology, it is often used to diagnose orbital/sinus tumors, abscesses, or foreign bodies. The magnet is used to excite hydrogen atoms in soft tissue which then emit a certain frequency that is converted to an image. The physics gets very complicated, but that is the gist of it.
