If there is just a: small amount of clear discharge, removing a primarily dry tampon from your vagina may be uncomfortable and abrade delicate mucosa.

Mini pads: Without Always, then you will never catch the "clear stuff". The use of tampons that are not frequently changed can lead to toxic shock syndrome.
