Avoidance measures: Removing oneself from the allergic trigger is the best advice but challenging at best when it comes to pollen that causes hay fever. After being outside, it can be helpful to change clothes and take a shower when a person returns home. Also, flushing the nose with saline (salt water) rinse can help. Keep the doors and windows of the house and car closed and avoid using an outdoors clothesline.
