?help?: You did not mention if the flu was verified with testing or what "med" is not working. Regardless, the main approach to care is assuring fluid balance with free access to liquids in any form. If he is able to pee every 8 hrs or more he is stable, but less would be worrisome. Some of these kids need IV fluids in the hospital. If he spooks you have him re-checked.

Cough, breathing: If his cough is worsening, please have your physician see him. If he has started the medication a little bit later in the course of the illness, it may not be as effective.
