Possibly: If your question is "can i be an ophthalmologist", that depends on how significant your vision loss is from amblyopia. If you have severe vision loss in one eye this will effect your depth perception and make surgery difficult for you. Some eye doctors do not perform surgery so don't give up. Perhaps your question was "can i see an ophthalmologist", that answer is yes.
