Treatment for amblyopia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Only in the young: Amblyopia indicates an eye seeing less well than normal as a consequence of childhood dysfunction - most commonly eye misalignment or strongly hyperopic correction. To prevent it children are patched in the good eye. Once beyond 8 years of age, it cannot be altered so adults with amblyopia cannot be improved.
