Synkinesis: Synkises results when a branch of the healing 7th nerve (after bell's palsy) regrows into multiple muscles on the affected side of the face. This causes, typically, your eye to blink when you smile or tearing of the eyes when your mouth waters. Unfortunately, there is no known treatment if this develops. It's annoying, but shouldn't cause any significant problems down the road.

I have been diagnosed with Bells Palsy and month after that a neurologist diagnosed me with Synkinesis . this horribly affects my speech and also my left eye. I have done a MRI and nothing was found. I want to be normal. what can be done for me now?
Is synkinesis permanent if developed early stage in the healing process of Bell's palsy. When I close my eye my lip and cheek spasms uncontrollably.
