What are the signs and symptoms of bells palsy returning?

It is estimated that only 7% of Bell's Palsy cases recur. Paralysis if the side of the face and, incomplete closure of the eye lids are the main symptoms. Less common is pain around the ear area, alterations of taste, eye pain.

Recurrent Bell's palsy is unusual, and if does occur, should ponder underlying systemic disease such as sarcoidosis, or perhaps involvement of herpes zoster, not simplex. The classical facial drooping, difficulty closing eye, and perhaps hyperacusis and focal loss of taste, may be seen again.
