Culture/throat: Infection of the sinuses, throat and lungs can occur at the same time. In the event that a bacterial illness is causing the disease, then an antibiotic is indicated. A culture of your throat or sputum culture will help your doctor determine the best treatment. Monitoring your temperature and treatment of fever, staying well hydrated and rest will help in the recovery. I hope that helps.
