Could be either...: Acute bronchitis can be due to a bacterial or viral infection of the airways and either can start from a pharyngitis infection. See your doctor to determine which type of infection you most likely have!

Either: The illness may be due to either, but the majority of community acquired bronchitis and pharyngeal infections are due to viruses. If you have had contact with someone with similar symptoms, that will be important information for your physician.
