General work-up.: A general physical exam with standard blood work is the first thing in any such visit, for any possible concern. Usually if there is anything going on, there will be symptoms already to focus on. Anything serous should show up on physical exam and blood work, which would direct the way toward special tests/procedures to rule out or confirm a diagnosis.
