Depends: A woman should start having pap smears when she begins having sex. I urge breast self-exam early. Breast and colon cancer screening recommendations vary. I'm not a big believer in lung cancer screening for smokers or prostate cancer screening for guys beyond the physical exam. Everybody needs to watch their skin.
