What should be done to avoid having poteins in the urine after 24hr urine collection, does medicines render the amount back to normal to below 30mg?

Proteinuria: Proteinuria (p) is a sign of kidney disease, not a diagnosis. P may be caused by a disease of the kidneys called glomerulonephritis (g) and other times it may caused by diabetic kidney disease. Go and see a nephrologist to have some blood tests ordered to see if the cause of your p can be found and then treated. If your p is due to diabetes, medicines such as ace-inhibitors an arb's can lower p.

I have done a 24 hr urine test. And came back normal. (Previously high protein). On the contrary my left kidney is still shrinking from 12/2020 at 10.9 to 02/2022 at 8.8 with the left being 12/2020 11.9 to 02/2022 at 11.1. Should this be concerning?

My urine lab test shows 3+ protein in my urine collection. All my lab test are neg. so my Doc ask me a kidney biopsy . He told me if dont have budget for biopsy, he would try to give me a "steriod medicine" as testing... Does giving steriod safe ?
