A member asked:

Just finished antibiotics for dental abscess but yesterday pain came back in my tooth and this morning woke up with a bit swollen cheek on that side?

Need treatment: Unlike many infections elsewhere in the body, dental abscesses require mechanical intervention to eliminate their source. Antibiotics are helpful to quickly reduce symptoms but you need the problem solved via root canal therapy, periodontal therapy or extraction to not have it recur as soon as you are through with the antibiotics.

See dentist ASAP: You might need a different antibiotic or you may actually need to have definitive treatment done.
