Had thyroid cancer and thyroidectomy 12 years ago.am pregnant w/ 2nd child, 6 mm hypoechoic heterogenous nodule found in neck area.recurrence possibly?

Get checked by docto: Your doctor should guide you. I would advise monitoring this nodule for any further growth over 3-6 months. If it grows, then a fna biopsy would be the next step to confirm its nature. Without biopsy we can not tell. There is some small risk that it could be a recurrence but only certain way to find out is by doing a biopsy.

Thyroid ca follow up: You should be under the care of an Endocrinologist, who typically manage the follow up of thyroid cancer. Did you get RAI after surgery? Have you had a f/u total body scan? Thyroglobulin? Ultrasound? How big was the cancer? What kind? All these are important questions. For now, while pregnant, make sure you are on adequate levothyroxine to suppress TSH.
