Calories needed: How many calories per day does it take to maintain your weight? A good calculator is the harris benedict equation (http://www.Globalrph.Com/harris-benedict-equation.Cgi). You probably need about 1400 cal/day as basal rate (pumping blood and breathing) and about 2000 total. So 1500 is still below your body's needs and you will lose weight. Now: are you counting calories correctly (it's hard)?
