Neurologist: This could be progression of the parkinson's, reaction to his medications, depression, etc. Check with his neurologist who is the best one to advise you.

I'm sorry about Dad: I trust that you and dad's physicians have discussed his wishes when he can no longer speak for himself. If he has an advance directive, it must be respected. Otherwise, if it is right to look for a cause (vascular, medication effect, metabolic problem), go ahead. It's clear you loved your dad enough to ask us. Many parents are not so fortunate. Cherish what time remains.
