A member asked:

Can an hiv positive male and an hiv negative woman produce an healthy, uninfected baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: If the HIV infected man is receiving antiretrovirals and has no measurable viral load the risk to you and your fetus will be reduced, but not eliminated. You have to ask yourself if you want to place yourself at risk of a potentially fatal disease for you and a child. Once pregnant, if you have become hiv+ prophylactic therapy can reduce the risk to the fetus but not eliminate it.
