Good description: That is fairly good way of looking at it. The goal is to let you function in a normal way without symptoms. It sounds like you and your doctor have come up with the right medication for you.

Yes.: Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and other stimulants are designed to correct the Dopamine deficit by blocking its reuptake and block some of the metabolic enzyme that absorb loose dopamine. When you're off the vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine), (lisdexamfetamine) your brain resumes the Dopamine deficit just like before you used vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine).

Temporary benefit: Stimulants like Adderall and vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) can help your brain perform normally because of the temporary physiologic changes they produce. These drugs target the your brain's prefrontal cortex -- which is associated with attention, focus, decision making, and expression of personality. http://tinyurl.com/lm6ccs7 neuroplasticity may also be involved. http://tinyurl.com/n7jfds3.
