A member asked:

I had retinal detachment surgery twice right eye in 2012. why am i still getting white flashes when my right eye blinks?

Flashes of light: Can be associated with stimulation of the retina. There can be other causes, but your history would make it more likely to be retinal in nature. When you blink the eye undergoes movement. Some patients with a scleral buckle or area of retinal tears that have been repaired by laser or if vitreous gel is still present over these areas, occasional flashes with eye movement can be noted by a patient.
