Lower Thresholds: There are substances that can lower the threshold for having a seizure. Some ssris, antiasthmatics, antibiotics, immunosuppressants, antipsychotics, stimulants, and bupropion have been shown to lower seizure threshold. Significant alcohol use can also lower the threshold, particularly when the alcohol is leaving the body or when combined with the other substances (e.g., bupropion).
