Fetal, newborn type: There are different types of hemoglobin, and they are determined by the type of dna in one's genes. What most people have are called normal hemoglobin types, and then there are genetic mutations that create other types of "abnormal" hemoglobin (that are not as good as the normal hemoglobin). Hemoglobin f is the normal hemoglobin of fetuses and newborn babies, and f does not cause anemia.
