That is unusual: High WBC is commonly caused by infections/inflammation. But yours is not likely to be due to infection., so it could be a benign variation, as long as it is not increasing. You should keep a watch, get it rechecked once yearly. If it should go up more than 1-2 thousand(>18-20, 000) then a consult with a hematologist would be advisable for long term monitoring as there is a condition, CML which can.

I recently had a CBC and came back with high neutrophils 8.6, lymphs 4.3, monocyttes 1.0, WBC 14.6. All other results were with in normal range.
I had a CBC done yesterday. The medical staff on hand gave me the thumbs up for good results. Neutrophils were at 49%. Lymphocytes were at 37.8%. Monocytes were at 11.3%. The absolute number on these were normal. WBC was 6.63. RBC was 6. Thoughts?
