No restrictions.: A "posterior placenta" is safely away from the cervical opening and should not have an increased risk of bleeding, therefore no restrictions. However, placenta previa and marginal previa have an increased risk of bleeding during pregnancy because the placenta covers or lies very close to the cervical opening. These conditions would require a restriction on intercourse.
