Check with her OB MD: Your wife's OB MD is the one to ask this question. If your wife has been bleeding during this pregnancy then intercourse will probably be a "non starter". However other means of physical expression may be permitted but her OB MD's advice will determine what can and cannot be done.

Low lying plancenta: A low lying placenta may actually be a marginal placenta previa. In general sexual relations in this situation may lead to bleeding. If its fairly early in her pregnancy, often times the placenta will be further away from the cervix after 26 weeks.
