Borborygmi: After gallbladder removal if you eat fatty food, which you cannot digest well, there may be increased activity of your intestines due to irritation from the undigested fat. The increased sound is called borborygmi. Try to decrease fatty or greasy food.

What a word! I wondered if it helps you put up with the bad parts of your gall bladder problems to have such an interesting word be part of it. I hope so. You deserve something nice.

If performed by: Experienced surgeon, risk is minimal. Assuming that you are going to have laparoscopic surgery, major complication is about 2% overall. That means 98% have no problems or minor problems if at all. Those are pretty good odds and not ask your surgeon whether he thinks out potential benefits outweigh the potential risks, he can tell you for sure.

Very safe.: Cholecystectomy is one of the most common operations performed in the us (~750, 000/yr). Like any operation, there are risks, both specific to the anesthesia and to the operation itself. The most common complications include bleeding, infection, chronic diarrhea, injury to adjacent organs or the bile duct; thankfully, all of these are very rare. More importantly, your attacks will never return!
