TB pleuritis: Treatment is indeed prolonged and in the us we use four medicines to make sure in hitting even resistant ones. Clearing may take time, and may not completely look clear after even if the fluid is gone, there may be scars and pleural thickening as residuals. If there is still fluid, it should be retapped to make sure the organism is not resistant to the antibiotics.
