Wet and dry cough: Wet cough is usually real phlegm from the lungs that can be expectorated with expectorant and mucolytic. Dry coughs are usually postnasal drip, very little from above that are treated with antihistamines and othe remedies to prevent drip from the sinuses. There you go, the answer is different.
