It's your body: You absolutely have the right to refuse surgery that is recommended. However, you need to understand why the procedure is suggested and the implications of not having the surgery. If you refuse the surgery, you have to accept the consequences of inaction and realize that you made that decision, against a doctor's advice. Sometimes a second opinion helps.
