A member asked:

Why do i get a very runny nose after intense cardio(ex. soccer game) that lasts for a couple hours?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Increased vagal tone: There are three different nerves that innervate the nasal mucosa. The vth cranial nerve for pain and 2 autonomic nerves, sympathetic and parasympathetic. The latter nerve know as a branch of the vagus stimulates mucus production. In your case, this is unusual because excercize usually stimulates the sympathetic nerve which inhibits mucus. Nevertheless, i would not worry about this. Atropine.
