Please explain why does it hurt every time my orthodontist changes the ligatures on my braces?

Krebs Cycle: The energy cycle produces, among other things, Adenosine di phosphate, a chemical that produces soreness. It's an indication that energy is being expended to move your teeth. It's a good thing. To reduce soreness keep teeth and gums immaculately clean, take 1 200mg advil (ibuprofen) every 4 hours followed by salt water rinse, eat soft high-protein diet. And enjoy your new smile.

Pressure: every time an adjustment is made, the wires are being tightened which will cause extra pressure and in turn potentially cause some discomfort. this should only last a day and typically does not occur with every adjustment
