A member asked:

Can you tell me when speaking about anxiety symptoms, is it referring to generalised anxiety disorder or all types of anxiety?

It depends upon the: Author and the focus of the topic. Unfortunately anxiety in the psychiatric literature is often thrown around indiscriminately and is not further clarified as to the type of anxiety that is being referenced. Therefore the issue can be confusing. Unless it is specified I have no idea whether it is generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, ptsd anxiety, phobic anxiety, psychotic anxiety, or any of the other types of anxieties out there.Best wishes.

It all depends: There is quite a bit of overlap between many anxiety disorders. Mental health diagnoses in general have a great deal of overlap.
