What could happen if ebola was crossed with influenza?

Not likely: Viruses reproduce by invading a cell, taking over the cellular machinery, and reproducing themselves. I don't think it is possible for two different viruses to infect one cell. The genes from ebola and influenza could be combined by some clever researcher but the combination would probably be unlikely to be infectious. Ebola is so infectious and lethal that the flu would not add much.

Can only speculate.: Viruses can mutate. Although, I could use my imagination to try to concoct an answer - right now I think it is more important to focus on the all too real diseases of influenza and Ebola.
