Infection and death: Ebola is highly successful at infecting most cells in the body. Most viruses infect only specific types of cell lines. So ebola rapidly spreads throughout the body, destroying cells in rapid order and causing the death of the person infected. It in fact sits in the body after death and another can be infected from those secretions.
