Changes: A few years ago, most of the implants were placed by oral surgeon, and then the general dentist prepared the implant for placing a crown or bridge upon it. Now, many general dentists are well trained to perform the entire treatment. I would ask the general dentist how many implants they have placed, and possibly the success.
