Pharmacist: That is a good question for the doc who prescribed it for you and the pharmacist who filled it. I would assume that you are having pain. Percocet is for moderate to severe pain when over the counter meds and rx anti-inflammatories are not effective. Percocet can interact with other meds that work centrally on the brain such as antidepressants and anxiety meds. Discuss with your pcp.
