4tsp daily: According to the FDA, the recommended daily amount of sugar is 4 teaspoons a day. When you consider that a regular yogurt has 7 tsp and a can of soda has 16 tsp, it's not surprising that Americans get far too much sugar, which contributes to heart disease, cancer and diabetes, among other things.
