A member asked:

Can an electrocardiogram detect blocked coronary arteries?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Indirectly/Maybe: An electrocardiogram is a recording of a series of heartbeats in a moment in time. Depending on the severity of the blockage, the symptoms being experienced at the time, whether this was an ekg during exercise or stress or symptoms would all come into play as to the ability of the test to detect blockage. Not the best test but of use in the overall evaluation of cad. Get a complete evaluation.
