A resting EKG with those conditions can be normal although if one has CHF, there are often signs of left ventricular abnormalities on the EKG. However if the CHF is caused by severe anemia or untreated hyperthyroidism, for example, the EKG may show a rapid rate as the only abnormality. An EKG during a treadmill stress test can show signs of coronary artery blockage.
