I was wondering what does lancing a stye mean?

Opening it: A stye is a pus filled sac. Most are in the substance of the lid and lancing is not usually done for them. But if the stye is on the edge of the lid, lancing - basically stabbing into it with a needle - can be done for drainage. This should always be followed by the application of heat for several days.
